Parking Permit for Nanny

Postby sw11_ » Mon Jan 27, 2014 12:09 pm

Hi - do you know if it is possible to get a parking permit for our nanny? My husband and i both have cars which we use for work so we want to get a car for our nanny to use during the day - i believe this would need a parking permit in her name as my husband and I can only have one permit each in our names. I note that workers like estate agents are able to get business purpose parking permits - has anyone got experience of doing this for a nanny? If you can demonstrate that the nanny needs a parking permit/car to do her job, then presumably it should be something that the council are ok with?

We have done this in the past. We had to write a letter and demonstrate it was for business purposes. Its a business permit which is issued which is quite a bit more expensive.

My employers have been getting me one for years and it's very easy to apply for if you have all the correct documents. You have to write a letter on headed paper with your name and address stating why you need a business permit for you nanny school run, ballet, swimming pick ups etc.. A recent bill with your address on eg.council tax bill. Proof of ownership of the car (V5) I own the car but not sure what you do if it's your car. A cheque in your name and your nannies last pay slips. All the information is on the Wandsworth Council website or they are very helpful if you call them. We get the all zones permit which is more expensive but its great if you do a lot of driving /parking in Wandsworth oppose to the one zone.

This is really easy to do. You need to apply for a business permit. You will need to provide a contract of employment.

I am a Nanny and I'm gonna work as fulltime Nanny at Hampstead NW3. Can my employer apply a parking permit for me even if I'm don't live in their house. I work as live out.

Many thanks
