Smashed iphone screen-repair in SW11? Post Reply

Hi,

Really annoyingly I dropped my iPhone, and without a case (I know, I know) it smashed the screen.

I'd like to get it repaired asap, preferably while I wait (I think such a thing exists!).

Can anyone recommend somewhere local (Northcote Rd/Clapham Junction) to get it repaired asap (i.e. tomorrow)?

The ifix centre on Battersea rise are very good. Not used them for screens but they offer a very competitive rate I think. They've done work on our laptop before and I found the service very friendly and efficient. http://www.ifixcentre.co.uk

The convenience store St.John's Rd J/W Battersea Rise did mine about a year ago. Still works no problem.

DO NOT use the kiosk opposite Clapham Junction station. My daughter used them and they replaced her broken screen with a cheap alternative that didn't fit properly and caused her iPod to self type. We had no idea the screen was the problem as it looked OK to us.

The guy at the ifix centre suspected her problem was a poorly fitting screen. He was very honest and even suggested we use the Apple Store if we wanted to pay a bit more and get the iPod completely overhauled. We decided to try changing the screen and it worked. Wish we'd known about them in the first place.

I recommend making an appointment at the Genius Bar in an Apple store, they will give you a new phone for the same price as a repair. I wasted a fortune having one repaired and it cracked again within 2 weeks. Good luck
