Big thanks to Southfields Grid mums 4 welcoming our fish box

Postby GuyD73 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 1:31 pm

Lovely to discover how incredibly friendly and supportive mums in Southfields were about our fish box scheme, which launched last Friday on Replingham road. Lots of people stopped for a chat and seemed very pleased to have a new option for incredibly fresh fish in their area. This week we had grey mullet, mackerel and it's less appreciated cousin scad (or horse mackerel), which I was pleased to see Antonio Carluccio cooking with on Saturday kitchen. Next week, who knows, it's whatever our fishermen catch that day...
We now have 3 collection hubs from which to collect your fish on a Friday afternoon. Barmouth Kitchen SW18 2DN, The Draft House on Northcote road SW11 6QW and Cakes by Robin, Southfields SW18 5LR. Our fish is landed on Friday morning and whizzed straight up the A3, so it's a matter of hours out of the water. We only source from small boats that fish sustainably, we reduce food miles by providing locally-caught species and we are absolutely 100% zero waste. Please support our ethical, local, family micro-business as well as the small-scale local fishers who supply us. Thanks to all our new members who have recently signed up, and we look forward to welcoming more of you to our scheme in the coming weeks. We'd be super grateful for any re-tweets https://twitter.com/guydorrell1 or shares of our facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Faircatc ... 6658791516
Any questions, please comment or give me a call 07810 753 815.
Best wishes, Guy http://www.faircatch.co.uk
