GP (NHS) recommendation near Northcote rd

Postby oab » Fri Feb 03, 2017 1:00 pm

Hello,

Our current NHS GP is Bolingbroke medical centre, however one of their main doctors seems to have gone away without a planned return date and their other main doctor is IMO quite bad. So I am considering changing GP.
Can anyone recommend a good GP surgery within walking distance of Northcote Rd? (by good I mean doctors are competent, same day appointments are relatively easy to get and they have early morning/late evening appointments).

thank you very much!

Thurleigh road practice- we've been very happy with them for a few years now. Good availability of appointments (especially for children) and good doctors.

Begg Practice in the St John's Hill Therapy Centre. All the doctors are lovely, Dr Solomon Begg is excellent, as his mother!

Haider Practice, also in St John's Therapy Centre, is also excellent, friendly and accessible.

I've been going to BridgeLane Group Practice for years and have always found them to be brilliant. Its close to Battersea Bridge though do it's a tiny bit further away than the others mentioned.

Another vote for the Begg practice. They are open late and I find they bend over backwards to make things work for you. I have been issued prescriptions when I faced an emergency after I called in late afteenoon, received a referral to a private specialist a couple of hours after calling (I was desperate to get an MRI after a fall and wanted to avoid going to A&E), and many other times. I have to say the nurse is not great (her manner leaves a lot to be desired) but all the doctors are amazing.

I am with the same practice and I think I know which Doctor you mean, I was told they would be back on the 13th. It is a bit of a nightmare when they leave. I have heard good things about Thurleigh but they do work on a catchment area.
