Party Bags

Postby hol78 » Mon Jun 12, 2017 9:54 pm

Can anyone recommend good party bag/going home presents for 5 year olds that are a bit different and not just another bit of plastic tat that are a novelty for an hour and then forgotten about or a choking hansard for younger siblings . But equally don't cost a fortune.
I had thought of a books ?

Hi there,
I have just started a little party bag business with my teenage daughter called Panda Party Bags. We supply party bags in colourful paper bags and we make the bags up as per the customer's requirements. We could help you out with bags with the following items:
- Yellow punch balloon - bubbles - playdough - sticker sheet - 2 types of sweets - all for £2.50 per bag (depending on where you live, we can deliver the bags free of charge - I'm in Balham).

We can also source other items like Pirate or Princess paper chain kits which the kids can take home and make and then put up in their bedrooms (these have been really popular with my own kids when they were smaller). Or Grow a Grass Animal kit. Add a little clear cone sweet bag to these items as they always want a few sweets!

If you want to discuss further, please feel free to email me at pandapartybags@gmal.com

Kind regards,
Loné and Ella

I used to HATE sweets in my kids party bags. They just stuff their faces with them on the way home. A lot of parents try to limit the amount of sweets their children eat but sometimes it's so hard when they're given then by other parents.

Hello

A few ideas I've seen:

-a handful of those glow in the dark adhesive stars/planets/moons
-a little magnifying glass
-uninflated balloons are always fun (can be used as noisemakers too)
-a little tin pot, a small bag of potting soil and some cress seeds
-a jacobs ladder toy
-a small bag of (home-made) plain popcorn

A few sweets are nice for the kids though; just don't go overboard...

One of the best things my children found in a party bag was a small bag of cookie dough and a cookie cutter.
Books are great (we both put them and received them in party bags): you can find very good deals (as in a collection of 10 for £ 10 or thereabouts) on The Book People. For that age you could go for Richard Scarry, Where's Wally?, activity/colouring books, or short stories they can read themselves.

The pound shop sell little teddies sometimes (not always so you have to keep going until they come in, which is tedious)- for one of my daughter's parties we put up a little pretend pen with a sign saying 'looking for a home' and then 20 little soft puppies from the pound shop. Each child could pick one up on their way out. We'd also made thank you for coming stickers and put them on as collars. Not on the high street also have nice little craft things, like make your own superhero masks and make your own mermaid sets, which work nicely.
I've also done superhero kits (with capes and little finger lasers, etc) and a tómbola type thing where I had lots of different thing wrapped up and children choose one thing at random....

Try notinthehighstreet - I just organised them for my 6 year old's party and ordered a load of 'little crafty sets' at around £4 each. They went down a treat.

Not sure if you still need advice on this but I have bulk bought books (I think Worldofbooks). I am sure they were about a £1.00 each for 15 and games in a tin from Space went down very well. Also got colouring book and pencils form the £1 shop. Good luck!
