Cycle lesson for 10 y old?

Postby monaco » Mon Oct 09, 2017 9:44 am

Hi

our daughter has developed a bit of a panick of cycling after not practicing it much for several years.

Does anyone know of a teacher that could help her learn to cycle properly and without fear? When we try to help her/teach her, it always ends badly so I'm thinking we need an independent/neutral person.

thanks

Wandsworth council runs free cycle courses for children during school holidays, you can sign up via the cycling section on the council website. Also apparently the cycle shop down on northcote road (I've forgotten the name but its across from the Bertie and boo restaurant) do cycle lessons too- I'm going down there this week to talk to them about it!

Google The Pedal Project!

No experience myself but sounds like a great concept.

Did pedal project was with both my daughters.
It's brilliant and Ed is very calm with them. Reasonable price too.

If you are a Lambeth resident (or go to school there) there are free courses for all levels offered by Cycle Confident: https://www.cycleconfident.com/sponsors/lambeth/

Wandsworth also has a similar scheme: http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/info/20012 ... and_skills
(don't be misled by the "basic", the 10-15 course seems to cover quite a lot)

I haven't tried either but as I came across them whilst looking at options for my own children I thought I'd post a link!

Thank you everyone, we'll look at all of these and book her in.
