I wondered if you would consider a rescue dog?  You can even get a cockapoo rescue so you'd be giving an already-existing dog a much needed home:

I have just got a 18 week old Cockapoo puppy from a breeder in Surrey - just past Guildford. Can highly recommend him - very pleased with my puppy but she was not cheap - four figures but has a fab pedigree so this is what you are paying for.
