Good Builder for full renovation?

Postby NEAT64 » Tue Sep 04, 2018 12:49 pm

Hi

I have just moved into a house on the Heaver and I am looking for recommendations for a good building company to carry out a full renovation to include new plumbing, heating, electrics, side return and loft conversion.

To date I have been given rough quotes ranging from £300k to £600K and I find the range quite baffling. I have considered getting a cost consultant but his fees are around £1500 which just seems an extra cost.

I am also looking for Heaver rail suppliers if anyone can point me in the right direction?

Any pointers gratefully received.

Thanks

I highly recommended Tim Slorick at Zenico and he is based in Balham so very local. He’s done work for me in the past
Have a google of the company and details Zenico Ltd as it has all their details

We did a similar renovation a two years ago and Foxbury and had a great experience. I would highly recommend owner Mark and his team.

We have used Mylondonextensions for two different projects and we were very happy. The first one was just a loft conversion and our second project was a much larger one with extension, loft and a complete refurb.
Their Project Management service was great (with access to  an online link to follow the progress) and it all went so well, I can only recommend them. Genuinely impressed.
The owner David's number is 07 990 856 830, I'm sure he will be happy to help!

Just finished a loft conversion, side return extionsion and basement fit out with the London kitchen extension company. Working through snags at the moment but I would recommend them. I’ve been through a couple of structural builds / updates in London and had tough experiences but this was a good one. We also live in the heaver estate if you wanted to see their work.

We used My London Extensions as well, for our renovation in Clapham Junction. We had a side return built out and an extension, in a ground floor flat, so lots of structural work and then all the interior as well, including finishings. David at MLE was great, he took a lot of time at the start for meetings with us and the builders to establish exactly what we wanted and then had his surveyor prepare a full quotation for everything, so there weren't any hidden costs or vague amounts, except where we weren't sure ourselves exactly what we would want. It gave us confidence that we knew what kind of overall sum we were committing to - although build costs have a way of increasing anyway, our extras were minimal and usually because we had asked for something extra. We had had another 2 quotations done and MLE's was in the middle, but our decision went on both value for money in terms of service/quality offered and the fact that David's surveyor spent more time asking questions and getting detail, so we were more confident that there wouldn't be hidden costs.
David kept in touch throughout the project to make sure we were happy with progress and quality and overall we are delighted with the result. The builders were meticulous in their work, with excellent attention to detail and patient with requests to change things as we went along.

Wow sounds like a big project ! I had my 4 bedroom house fully renovated in Fulham with extension by Greenlife Contractors and I know they cover residential projects up to £1 million.

I would really recommend speaking to them (free quote) they are really good at communicating the project and high standards.

:)
