Growing Up in Wartime Battersea

Bring a vital part of local history to life for you and your family:  videos of men and women recounting their experiences as children in wartime Battersea highlight this talk. Compelling stories range across evacuation, disrupted schooling, what it was like during the air raids, and much more.
Sponsored by the Battersea Society, this talk is part of the Wandsworth Heritage Festival.  

Thursday, 6 June.  6:30 for 7:00
RCA Dyson Building, 1 Hester Street at Battersea Bridge Road.
Doors open at 6:30 and refreshments will be available.No tickets required.  £5 at the door; no charge for under 16's accompanied by an adult.

There's a bit missing from this. My father was born in Weatherby in Yorkshire - despite all out family being from Battersea. This is because my grandmother was evacuated to Yorkshire. Probably plenty of children from the area were evacuated themselves.
