The government are talking a lot about children's 'Lost Learning'. Our inspiring and educational holiday workshops will help your child to catch up on their learning, socialise again and have some added fun in-between.
Government Guidelines for indoor activities weeks of 29th March and 6th April:
The government has also recently added specific guidance for “after-school clubs and out-of-school activities”. We are thrilled to be able to offer in-person lessons/workshops once again!
As per the government’s guidance, from March 8th, all children (rather than just those children of critical workers) can be taught in-person with Yellowbird where it is:
• reasonably necessary to enable a parent and carer to work, to search for work, to undertake education or training, or attend a medical appointment or address a medical need, or attend a support group.
• being used by electively home-educating parents as part of their existing arrangements for their child to receive a suitable full-time education
• being used as part of their efforts to obtain a regulated qualification, meet the entry requirements for an education institution, or to undertake exams and assessments
Most of our parents will meet two of these criteria that will enable you to send your child to our out-of-school setting. Our workshops will enable parents/carers to work and our lessons/workshops enable students to meet entry requirements for an education institution, or to undertake (prepare for) exams and assessments.
Yellowbird are providing core-curricular activities for catch-up provision to all children.
All workshops will be run with Coronavirus protective measures in place, in well ventilated classrooms and in bubbles. Teachers and staff will be wearing masks. Students are welcome to wear masks if desired, but not required. Hand sanitiser will be available on the day. Whilst we are making every effort to ensure social distancing and extra cleanliness standards are in place, we cannot guarantee that there is not a risk if your child attends a lesson/workshop.
The government’s intention is then for out-of-school settings and wraparound childcare providers to be able offer provision as normal, to all children, from the start of the school summer term. This will be no earlier than 12 April, and will be confirmed as part of step 2 of the COVID-19 response spring 2021.
As always, we are happy to answer any questions and look forward to welcoming back parents and students!
