Looking for people with hypothyroidism symptoms or long term fatigue

Postby Lily pomme » Wed Jul 11, 2018 11:13 am

Hi there

I have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism ( extreme unexplained fatigue, malaise, weight gain, puffy face, brain fog, hair loss, etc) but all my thryoid blood tests are within normal range ( TSH, T3, T4, Reverse T3, antibodies )

I have done all blood tests possible and nothing has come up apart from signs of inflammation, which could be anything.
I have no food allergy/intolerance symtpoms, and no signs of lymes.
I take probiotics, vit B complex, magnesium, rhodiola for energy, but I still have awful days when I literally cant work/ get out.

I woud love to have feedback from women who have similar symptoms and see if you have managed to get out of this hell

thanks in advance

My mum had similar symptoms, plus more appearing over time. She was tested for everything and eventually after years and years of going back to the doctor was diagnosed with fibromyalgia plus chronic fatigue syndrome.

Hi!

I was diagnosed with sub-clinical hypothyroidism a few years ago. I now work as a coach helping people manage their energy in a holisitic way. This by no means is an alternative to medical investigation or treatment but I've found working with natural rhythms and using yoga therapy techniques has really helped me and my clients.

I share lots of free tips and tools at www.thepracticalbalance.com where you can also book a free no-obligation call if you want to explore working together.

Vix xx

I have hypothyroidism / Hashimoto's and extend my sympathies. Feeling all the shades of ill and not having any reasons why is an unfriendly place to live in.

I am no doctor and so have only anecdotal stories to go by, but here goes:

Have you considered all the other GI conditions (apart from food intolerances)? From looking after my son's health, I know that hair loss and other thyroid-type symptoms can also be caused by low stomach acid. You may already have ruled this out.

I have another friend who is also in the position you are in. She finds exercise a help. Her doctors were quick to call "perimenopause" on her symptoms, which investigations proved inconclusive. Have you gone down that road?

Hi there, I’ve been diagnosed twice with hypothyroidism. First time I was very young (19 I think) and being a person who’s not a fan of doctors or medication I went to see a nutritionist instead. She changed my diet and recommending supplements, within 8 weeks my thyroid levels were back to normal again. No medication needed as I refused to take it for life as doctor recommending. Then it happened a few years later so I did the same again and fixed it that way. It’s been fine ever since.
I’m guessing maybe will depend how high your levels are so may not work for everyone, but worth a try.

Hi Vix,
The issue is that all my thyroid blood tests are normal, and I dont know what is considered subclinical HT. My TSH is just below 2 and T3/T4 are normal. (not towards low or high end, but middle)
CAn i ask how did you get your GP to diagnose with subclinical HT?

I’m hyperactive and eating a wide range of whole foods, reduced meat, expanded fish intake, loads of vegetables and unsweetened yogurt. I still have occasional treat food and only drink alcohol at weekends. I’m slowly and finally loosing weight and I defiantly have more energy.

I put this down to significantly reducing any pre made foods and making most food myself.

I average just near 10,000 steps a day. I do my food shop with a trolly and I go on 10mile plus walks once or twice a month.

Eating early in the evening and not snacking between meals.

I’d like to get off the medication in the future and would be interested in the diet mentioned above.

I still have occasional days of fog or fatigue but they mainly follow on from a late party night.

Could you be perimenopausal and have you had your iron levels checked? And are you taking enough B12? Hypothyroidism, menopause, low B12 and low iron all have similar symptoms.

I had fibromyalgia, and it was painful on some days. I took methocarbamol to relieve the pain. Sometimes it helps and other days it doesn't. I had it for almost 16 years, there was no cure. So I had to live with it the best that I could. The symptoms I had were  Muscle Pains, mood swings, and difficulty falling asleep. There has been little if any progress in finding a cure or reliable treatment. April this year my brother In law who’s an M.D suggested I started on Natural Herbal Gardens Fibromyalgia Herbal formula which eased my anxiety a bit,We ordered their Fibro herbal treatment after reading alot of positive reviews, i started on natural alternative Fibromyalgia DISEASE treatment from ( www. naturalherbalgardens .com )  the treatment worked very effectively,  i am happy to report with the help of Natural Herbal Garden natural herbs my severe symptoms simply vanished, i feel better now, this alternative fibromyalgia disease treatment is a breakthrough.Visit Natural Herbal Gardens official website This Herbal Protocol is Incredible, I have never been this Healthier!!

I had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism for several years (was always borderline), and eventually it went away with taking a natural thyroid support medicine. I still had all my symptoms though, the exact same ones you have...went to see an endocrinologist and he immediately realised I must have a sleep disorder. Imagine my shock and disbelief! I took a sleep study for sleep apnoea and sure enough, that was the problem! If you're not getting proper sleep your body starts shutting down systems. I am now in the process of getting it treated and hope to feel better soon!!

Hello,

Please google PMDD. So many women suffer from this and don’t realise it, there are great support groups out there with loads of interesting info like Vicious Cycle or Uk PMDD Support Group and they are trying to spread the awareness. In the nutshell PMDD is a more extreme form of PMS, your hormones levels would be fine but your body is more sensitive to the changes in you cycle so after ovulation till your period you can experience a range of symptoms including extreme fatigue, brain fog, self doubting thoughts, anxiety - the list goes on. It can vary from month to month but making a monthly tracker would be a start. Please have a look into it, it may not be what you have but worth checking.
