Review - Room On The Broom
This Julia Donaldson book has been a firm favourite in our noisy household, from toddler to six-year-old alike. So, we were all very excited to see it brought to life at the Lyric Theatre.
And, we were not disappointed. Right from the word go, we were taken on a magical journey of fun, humour with plenty of songs. The show was perfectly pitched at the children in the audience. My three little ones (3, 4, and 6), who never normally sit still for long, were utterly entranced by what was taking place in front of them and all giggling along.
A fab cast of four, keep up the energy and the audience entertained for the full hour. The play is very cleverly choreographed with beautiful puppets joining the actors on stage to retell the story. With very catchy songs, the marvellous puppetry, humour for both young and old, Room on The Broom, is an absolute delight to watch and a treat for the whole family.
A thumbs up from all of us and with the trip into London’s theatre land all lit up for Christmas, it was a great way to start the festive season.
Room on the Broom is on at the Lyric Theatre, London until the 13th January 2019
