Part-time (30 Hours)/ after school nanny role from September

Postby Labellalavanderina » Mon Jul 26, 2021 5:50 am

We are a British -Italian family in Balham and are looking for a long-term Italian-speaking nanny (25- 30 hours a week in the afternoon during term-time, to be agreed with the nanny, more hours in the holidays by previous arrangement if desired).

We have two boys aged 11 and 9. They are at school so we need someone to pick up the youngest from school and the eldest from the bus stop, supervise homework and play, and cook a light, healthy evening meal. There is a cleaner twice a week so no cleaning required.

Working hours need to include: 4-7.30 Monday to Thursday and ideally Friday 3.30-7. The rest of the hours, for cooking and preparation, will be agreed to suit the nanny and our needs. We can flex the timetable to suit someone who wants to work 20 hours, for example to fit around another job, but 30 hours a week also have worked well for us in the past.

There is flexibility during the school holidays: the 30 hours can be covered at different times as agreed between the nanny and us, for example 3 full days, or usual hours after clubs.

We normally travel 3-4 weeks during the summer and 3-4 weeks at other times of the year: you can take paid annual leave during these times.

We are caring, supportive employers and offer a long- term role, a competitive salary, commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications, paid holiday, pension and potentially English course if required.

Previous experience with school-aged boys, excellent contactable references, DBS or equivalent and up-to-date paediatric first aid course (or willingness to undertake one) absolutely necessary. We have all had Covid in 2021 and have no wish to repeat the experience so all adults are fully vaccinated and we ask that the nanny is too.
