Dr. Caroline Curtis founded the Lucky Beans Childcare Family in September in 2016 when she started her childminding business from her house.
Since then, Lucky Beans have opened five nurseries in the Balham/Tooting/Streatham/Norbury area, with two more due to open this year, and have had many happy parents and a record of helping children develop and go on to the primary school of their choice. The Beans Family focus on developing a well-rounded child by operating a forest school ethos within our settings. This means we focus on learning outdoors and developing children’s curiosity as well as preparing them for life in school.
As a positive psychologist, Dr. Curtis prides herself on using strengths-based learning techniques both indoors and outdoors to aid children's personal and emotional development. From the outset she had a clear vision of providing excellent care, fostering positive parental partnerships, and utilising strengths-based methods for nurturing children and enabling them to thrive, gain life skills and be happy.
The forest school ethos of active child-led learning informs everything they do. A forest school offers a unique learning opportunity as children develop self-esteem and confidence through experiencing the outdoors.
Lucky Beans will provide your child with a wide range of activities including music, Spanish, dance etc. Young minds have the opportunity to explore the joys of being part of a team and the thrill sports in preparation for life beyond childminding.
Lucky Beans aims to enrich your child inside and out. With changing weekly menus of healthy meals, all children are fed mostly organic and nutritious meals throughout the day.
