Linden Tree Old Town vs Bright Horizons Clapham

Postby Bilingualmama » Mon Mar 13, 2023 5:35 pm

Hi all,

Any thoughts as to how these two nurseries compare and which you think is better suited to a 12 month old?

Thanks!

Bump!

Anyone have their little ones at either nursery?

Last I had a child at Clapham Bright Horizons was 5 years ago so I'm keen to know how it is now and have never used Linden Tree before.

Thanks

Our daughter has been at Linden Tree in Webb's Road for almost 3 years now and she is very happy there. My son went to a different nursery which we were very happy with but couldn't make it work this time because of location. My thoughts on Linden Tree specifically:
- it's a very small nursery and the staff is lovely. So if you prefer a smaller setting LT probably has the edge here.
- I don't have any hard data but I feel staff turnover here is less than the average nursery (or at least the one we were in before)
- admin processes I think it could be improved. Some of the policies and processes don't feel parent friendly at all. Our previous nursery had a very well staffed central office and they spent lots of time in parents experience (they had a few big nurseries to fill so it makes business sense)

Hope it helps, can't really advise on Bright Horizons but on the whole we have had a positive experience at LT.

My 16mo has been at BH Clapham since she was 9mo. We originally tossed up between the 2 but ultimately BH offered longer hours and didn't have a v long wait list. We have been so pleasantly surprised with how great it is, my husband frequently comments on how impressed he is. The staff are really wonderful, they were v patient and helpful during settling which for us was a long process but now she walks in without a glance back and has an amazing time. The range of activities and facilities they offer is also impressive and things I would never do at home with her. From a young age there's a big focus on learning and development and the key workers are great at working with parents to help the kids progress. I think BH can sometimes be viewed as not as good because it's a chain (i definitely had that unfounded view before I went there) but I honestly have nothing but good things to say about it.
