I have a wonderful nanny to recommend. Andrea worked with me for a year full time looking after my son from age 4½ months and was everything I think a nanny should be, I couldn’t have asked for better. She was always cheerful, loving and worked very hard to ensure he was happy, stimulated and developing well. My son loved spending his days with her; she always had something fun planned.
From a practical point of view she has a wealth of experience, was never late and never had a day of sick. She’s an excellent cook; meals were healthy, tasty and varied. She is also very sensible and more than capable of making good decisions; she never needlessly bothered me at work but I knew she would contact me if need be or keep me informed if he was ill. Added bonus is she’s a very competent driver; I had no issues with her driving my son in our car.
Andrea now has a beautiful daughter (16 months) who is incredibly well behaved (I confess better than mine) and is testament to her skills in child development. She would need to bring her daughter with her but has experience of taking her to work with no issues (my children and I’ve met up with them on a number of occasions to witness this). Don’t let a nanny’s own child put you off; they don’t take priority over yours and depending on your own circumstances it can be beneficial.
She’s looking for up to 4 days a week – really is worth talking to her/seeing her if you are looking for a nanny, we were lucky to have her, wish it had been longer.
