We are seeking a caring and trusting live-in Nanny to be sole charge to 2 little girls aged 2.5 years and 1 year. The position is for 6 months initially with the possibility of it being extended if the mother’s contract with her own employer is also extended. We need someone to start immediately (ideally at the start of next week) so they can settle in before mum has to start work on Monday 4th Feb.
The hours are 7.45am – 6.15pm Monday to Friday and includes a nursery run for the eldest 3 mornings a week (8am – 12.30pm). Only 1 night babysitting a week will be required and there may be occasional weekend work for additional pay.
THE CANDIDATE:
Our ideal candidate will be loving, warm, patient and kind, with a real enthusiasm for taking care of children, playing with them, teaching them and helping little people learn new things about the world around them. You will be an experienced and genuine professional career who loves being a Nanny. You will consider yourself to be confident, responsible and organised with a happy personality. We are particularly interested in people with a Southeast Asian (Thai, Philippine etc) and Australasian (Australia & NZ) background.
OUR FAMILY:
We are both full-time working parents from New Zealand who are relaxed and informal and have a caring and positive outlook so would like to have loving and happy people around. We are also very approachable and would encourage open and honest communication about how to create the best possible environment for you and the children. Our eldest daughter is confident and curious, and our youngest is the most content wee girl you could meet.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE :
* Nursery run 3 mornings a week
* Following established feeding and nap routines and adjust accordingly as the girls develop
* Cooking nutritious, varied meals to provide a well balanced diet
* Daily outdoor activities
* One-on-one playtime and reading
* Be willing to attend local classes (possibly including swimming with the youngest)
* Be willing to organise interesting outings to keep the children stimulated
* Be willing to organise playdates with children of similar age
* All baby duties during the day including sterilising
* Support the eldest through potty training
* Take to any required medical appointments
* Keep all used areas clean and tidy, including the kitchen and dining area after mealtimes and tidy away toys and games at the end of the day
* Share laundry duties with the parents
* We also have a weekly cleaner but ask that the Nanny share light duties with the parents such as changing cot sheets, emptying bins when necessary and keeping floors clean from major dirt and fluff
LOCATION:
We are based in Balham (SW12 0JL). The nearest tubes are Balham and Clapham South and there are also good bus routes to almost everywhere in central London just minutes away. It is a very friendly and close-knit street with a number of similar aged children and we are also near a number of parks, playgrounds and play groups.
YOUR ACCOMMODATION:
Accommodation for the Nanny is a cosy double room with its own TV and there is also Wi-fi access. You will share the bathroom with the family.
Please ONLY apply if you have the following:
* Very good English is essential
* Suitable qualifications
* More than 2 years UK experience is preferable but not necessary
* 2 previous positions as a sole charge live-in Nanny for more than one child of similar ages
* Valid CRB check
* Valid baby first aid certificate / first aid training
* TWO excellent references - at least one of which must be of sole charge live-in nanny for similar aged children
The weekly rate is negotiable and will depend on experience.
