How much do I offer a live in nanny?

Postby lauracraig » Wed May 08, 2013 3:03 pm

Please can someone let me know the going rate for a live-in nanny? It would be 7am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 7am-2pm on Fridays. It is my cousin who has no experience with nannying but is very capable. Meals will obviously be included. THank you

Its hard to say as you don't indicate how many children or their ages.

I think anywhere from £200 to £300 net a week is right given she/he will have accommodation, travel, and meals paid for and no experience under there belts.

Good Luck.

I would say a going rate in London is about £250 for these kinds of hours. But if you increacse hours on a friday I would be looking at £300 per week net.

Its lovely that you are offering this kind of arrangement for a family member however if future employers come to you for a reference from your cousins perspective will be frowned upon due to your being a family member.

However I would stick with £250-275.

Good luck
