Looking for a lovely Live-In nanny Between the Commons !

Postby Tpa » Thu Jun 19, 2014 2:36 pm

We are a very relaxed, welcoming and loving American family and would like a loving and trustworthy (ideally French speaking) live-in nanny to care for our son. We want someone friendly and outgoing, as she will be another member of our family!

The live-in situation includes the top floor of our terraced house with a large loft bedroom (includes a sitting/tv area), private bathroom and access to the roof terrace (we rarely use it, so you can mostly consider it your own space).

We are looking for 40 hours per week plus 2 nights babysitting (may include weekend days or evenings, but generally you will have at least 2-3 weeks notice and some weeks we may have no babysitting requirement at all.) Also, one parent may be gone for a few days at a time for work during the week, so having a person who is willing to step in, is a must.

My son will be 7 months old in October, so ideally, you have weaning experience. He is currently following a sleep routine and is a very happy baby. Duties include, everything to do with the baby, washing up and keeping the nursery/kitchen/play area tidy and cooking fresh organic meals for him. Light housekeeping/errands are needed (think: keeping house clutter-free, post office/dry cleaning/grocery runs) but no deep cleaning would be expected. If you are an experienced housekeeper, you would be paid extra.

You must be energetic, genuinely love babies/children and creative enough to stimulate their minds throughout the day.
Driver's License is not required but you should be comfortable taking baby on public transport or getting around by foot. (He gets out at least once per day to music class/playgroups/park stroll etc).

We are in talks with neighbours about a few days of nanny share, so ideally, you are happy to watch another baby during the day too.
Travel isn't necessary but could be, if you are interested. Expenses would be covered.

We are looking for someone to start mid or end of September on a committed, long-term basis at a rate of £350- £400 per week, depending on experience, languages, etc

Excellent references from minimum 2 employers. Relevant trainings and track record of interest in children (ie, degree in Child Psych, daycare admin, etc) would be a big plus. We are very hands-on parents, and are looking for more of an "Auntie" rather than a "Nanny." A big heart is the biggest plus! Please email if interested.
