3day/week Italian nanny

Postby lucia79 » Fri Nov 21, 2014 11:04 am

Hi all! I'm Lucia, Italian girl 35 years old.
I have many years experience with children, since I was very young, I loved to take care of my neighbours kids. It was and it's natural for me to stay with them, because I love their innocence, their desire to learn and to discover the world.
I tell you something about my experience: generally I was a babysitter, pre and after school, but I prepared kids for school, so that means to prepare breakfast, to wash, dress and pick up to school. I worked with children from 3 years old until 7 , and I had an experience with a 45old woman that she was like a child. She has a mental retard, and sometimes she was aggressive, it depended. My longest experience beginnings five years ago when my niece was born, so since then I toke care of her. Initially I was a mother help, because my sister was awake all night long, so I was there during the morning to let her sleep, and I did everything baby's needed, and some housework. When my sister turned back to work my niece was 6 months old, and then I became a full time nanny, 7:15am-20 pm, doing everything: preparing healthy meals, change nappies, take bath, play with her, read stories, learn to walk, everything!! Thank God, noting strange it happened, she wasn't never in danger, because I was like her shadow. I let her to play, to explore, but I was always on her side to be sure that she was in safe . Another thing I think it's very important is good manners, so this is what I try to teach to her and I think to did a good job. At the meantime, I never did something that was against parent's will: we have to be clear that it's not our son that we care of, and if parents are different way to think, we have to do what they want for their child. It's very important, in my opinion, to follow the same education line. I'm very loving, affectionate, encouraging, but I'm firm at the same time.
Now, let me tell something about my situation:
I'm still living in Italy, and I think to move in the middle January 2015. For the first period I will stay to my sister's place, that she lives in Bromley. I wish to attend a language course to improve my English, especially the listening part, for this reason I think that it will be better if I work for an Italian family or a family that not required an excellent level of English. I want to attend a first aid course . I'm not a driver and I don't smoke. My crb is clean and I will provide it. At last, I'd like to work around 30/35 hours weekly in three days, just because sometimes I will need to turn back to Italy, as I study law at university of Pavia, so sometimes I will need two or three days off to do my exams ( I miss just three to finish). That's don't means that I'm not flexible, we can arrange days and hours..
That's a short description of me , hope to hear from you.
I had a different experience even like waitress during summer period in a sea town, maybe it doesn't matter, but it's just to say that I have no problem to be in touch with people.
Hope to hear from you. Lucia
