We were very happy with Oaktree nursery on Ramsden Rd, just opposite Balham library/Waitrose. Lovely, highly qualified staff, go have a look. Our second child will start there in September.

I think we are pretty well served by some fantastic nurseries in the Balham area, but, like the previous posters, my recommendation would also have to be Oaktree Nursery on Ramsden Road. All of my children (including the one that is still there!) have just loved their time at Oaktree. The range of activities that the children do is huge - yoga, music and drama, sport, cookery, lots and lots of art, Spanish, community walks, as well as conventional pre-literacy and numeracy learning - but as almost all of these activities are play-based, the children never feel pressurised or pushed; they just have fun and are stimulated and interested. There is also a lot of free play and my children have formed some wonderful friendships at Oaktree that have lasted long after they have left and have gone to different schools. The staff is fab too - often very well qualified and, most importantly, really kind and nurturing (my children have loved their teachers!) I could go on, but I realise that choosing a nursery or school is a personal choice, so the best I can suggest is to visit Oaktree for yourself or look at their website if you're interested: http://www.oaktreenurseryschool.com). Good luck!

Hi,
We deliver Sporty minis sessions weekly at all six Eveline day school nurseries, and we love the staff and children. Worth checking them out!

Thank you pie81 for the recommendation.

Bertrum House Nursery is based on Rowfant Road in a huge, bright church hall. We are really lucky to have a fantastic outdoor learning space which is partly covered by a canopy so we are out whatever the weather!

We work had to get to know our children and their families and our excellent staff are experts at supporting young children through their first discoveries. Children start with us aged 2.5 years and attend for three, four or five mornings. At this age, we also have an option of a full day (until 3pm) on a Wednesday. The September after the children's fourth birthday, they move to our Pre-Reception class and attend for five mornings with the option of up to three afternoons.

We are having an open day on Monday 8th June from 1.30pm until 3.30pm and we have showrounds every Thursday morning. We would love to meet you and to show you around.

To book into the Open Afternoon or arrange a showround, please contact our school office on: 020 8774051

We look forward to meeting you.

Many thanks again for all of your recommendations.

We will be going to visit a couple more of these.

We went to the open day at Asquith nurseries yesterday, whilst the staff appeared to be really nice, the run down state of the nursery left us feeling very depressed. Thank goodness there are many options out there!!
