Looking for a new nanny

Postby randomsw11 » Fri Oct 21, 2016 8:03 pm

We are looking for a full-time live-in nanny to join our family in South London, as our lovely current nanny is moving home to Scotland. Our daughter is 4 and just started school, and our son is 2 and at nursery in the mornings. We would like a reliable, caring, enthusiastic nanny who is full of energy. You’ll also have previous child care experience, be independent and able to plan healthy, enjoyable meals for the children.

Both parents work full-time, so you’ll need to be organised and look after all aspects of the children's social and school diaries and keep us up to date, reminded and informed about all of the children's activities. We think we are relaxed and easy to live with, but you can ask our current nanny for her view!

The responsibilities of the role will include:

Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for the children

Supervising the children’s activities at all times

Planning and preparing nutritious home cooked meals for the children, occasional top-up shopping for the family and occasional cooking for the whole family.

Playing creatively with the children, both indoors and outdoors, and organising play dates

Supporting educational activities, including reading and writing.

School/nursery drop-off and pick-up

Washing and ironing children's clothes and bedding, dressing the children.

Light housework (emptying dishwasher, keeping clean the kitchen or other rooms used)

Placing the youngest down for a nap after lunch

Bathing the children

We’d like you to have good English, the right to work in the UK, a CRB check and a current First Aid certificate; and we will want to check your references. Native French speaker a bonus.

You’ll have your own good-sized double bedroom, overlooking the garden, with Sky TV and a private bathroom.

Start date: Ideally from beginning of January 2017 but for the right candidate this could move slightly.

Hours: 7am – 7pm plus 2 nights babysitting, though these are not always used. Occasional weekend work (paid extra) and possible overseas travel.

Salary Offered : Negotiable depending on experience
