Fun, happy and reliable live-in/out nanny or mothers' help required for busy family of 3 kids from end Dec/January.

Postby tatters » Thu Dec 01, 2016 10:38 am

We are a busy, fun-loving and happy family of 3 kids: a 7 year old daughter, 5 year old son, 1.5 year old little girl, and an 11 year old blind cocker spaniel living in the Abbeville Village area of Clapham. I have been on maternity leave for the last 1.5 yrs with our youngest, sharing care with our 3 day a week nanny until last month. We had hoped to carry this on with our current nanny, but I am now going back to work 4 days per week from January, and she is unable to give us more time as she works for another family who are expecting a baby the other two days. So we are now looking for a kind, funny, honest and hard-working person who loves working with multiple children and toddlers from the new year.

As both my husband and I will be be working from the 3rd Jaunary, sometimes longer hours, we need someone full-time with some degree of flexibility who is looking for a role to start then. We are looking ideally for a live-in nanny or mother's help to work 5 days per week, 7-7 with 2 babysitting nights per week, but we would also consider live-out for the right person and ability to be flexible. I normally do the school run for the older kids each morning, but need help getting everyone ready to go from 7am and then the nanny to plan activities for the little one in the morning, followed by the school pick up, homework, food, play dates and bath time etc.

With such a busy household we need someone with lots of energy, a very positive 'can do' outlook, who is amazing with the kids and also with doing housework, tidying and to keep the house and the kids organised and in calm control.

So the role will predominantly include:-

The Role
- Hours: M-F 7-7; babysitting x 2 nights per week. (Occasional pre-agreed later finish.)
- getting breakfast ready for the 3 kids, helping them to get dressed and out of the door ready for school. Sometimes taking them to school with the little one too.
- organising and managing local activates, classes and playgroups with our toddler, working to her schedule of napping from 1-3pm
- preparing healthy, varied and nutritious home-cooked food for the kids, lunch at home for the little one and then evening meals for all 3 kids
- organising the house, keeping the playroom, kids rooms', kitchen and common areas tidy, organised and calm each day
- doing the family's laundry throughout the day plus the kids ironing (all ironing for live-in), putting clothes away and keeping on top of the kids' clothes
- school pick up and homework commitments each day
- bath-time for all 3, hair washing 2-3 times per week, trimming nails, ensuring teeth are brushed etc.
- preparing uniforms and school bags each evening for the next school day
- babysitting when arranged
- occasional extra hour(s) when either parent needs to work late (paid)
- feeding the dog & giving one daily short walk - must be a dog lover as he is blind so needs gentle care

What we're looking for:

- minimum 3 years experience with young children
- very good level of spoken English or native speaker
- First Aid certificate and DBS checked (we will insist upon these for the right candidate)
- Happy, patient, friendly, confident, adaptable and outgoing person who we can trust completely
- someone who enjoys a busy, noisy environment and can cope with all of the lovely chaos it creates!
- a warm, loving, tactile and fun to be with carer who has a genuine love of kids
- someone who is very organised, hard-working and good at keeping a house tidy and calm
- reliable, happy to work as a team, self-motivated and professional
- a dog lover
- non-smoker
- preference given to those who are confident, experienced (UK) drivers
- at least 3 recent checkable references
- Up-to-date DBS check, and first-aid training, the right visas etc to work in the U.K.

We live in a large house on a friendly street near to Abbeville Road...very close to the shops and restaurants there, and about 15 mins walk to Clapham South tube and Clapham Common. We enjoy music, walking and playing the park, dressing up and putting on shows (the kids!), laughing and being silly, activities, watching films and having friends and family over.

We are moving to Sussex in August 2017, and so are looking for someone to work with us from beginning January to beginning August 2017 in London. We would consider bringing anyone interested with us to Sussex (1.5 hr commute to central London), but strong driving would be essential for that to be possible.

Please could you send me your C.V by private message if this is of interest.

Many thanks.
