Live in nanny question

We are considering getting a live in nanny around April/May time. We have had a live in nanny previously and she worked full time 7-7 5 days a week. Our home set up has changed a bit since then and I can work either 3 or 4 days a week plus both children attend school and nursery. Has anyone had part time live in nanny before? Maybe 35-40 hours a week (I know that is full time for a lot of jobs!) rather than 60 hours as our previous nanny worked.

I am not sure whether it would be an attractive set up for a nanny or not! I would welcome any parents or nanny feedback if they have done this previously.

It would suit a nanny who didn't want to nanny live in for 60 hours

Would suit a nanny without accommodation in London who didn't want to be in London all week

I did a temp role last year for 2 weeks that was live in for 3 full days a week (mon to wed ) - arrived in London at live in nanny house Sunday eve and left Thursday am

^ worked well for me as I had a good work life balance .

How old will your child/ren be when you require a 3/4 day week live in nanny ?

I hadn't thought of a nanny leaving London on days off/part of the week, that's a good point. I assumed that the nanny would live with us full time but only work and be paid for 35-40hr a week. We would be very happy either way. Have always been flexible in our approach and has worked very well previously.

Our children would have just turned 5 and 3 then.

I think it could be the ideal job for someone, it is just finding the right person.
