Friends have children there and love it. Kind, inclusive and a very different school from ten years ago.

Can I ask what year your daughter is in.
We have just recieved an acceptance for my daughter and she will move there in September for Year 5. Be great to know of others who also have a girl starting.

And anyone with feedback about the senior school would be lovely. Have met a few lovely women who studied there but know nobody with girls in the senior school.

Our elder daughter is in the lower sixth having joined in year 7 and our younger daughter is currently in year 7. We are delighted with the school - academically they have pushed our elder daughter who would otherwise have coasted but without putting her under undue pressure and our younger one seems to be handling the transition well (they both went to a local state primary). What I think is pretty telling of the quality of the school on this front is that her best friend who was less naturally academic also achieved an impressive set of GCSE results. Socially they both have lovely friends (both went with only one friend from primary). Elder one is very sporty and has had lots of opportunity to play sports but also to develop leadership skills by coaching younger ones. Younger one is not at all sporty but the school have managed to get her playing both hockey and netball in the school teams and she voluntarily goes to school early one day a week for training!! We have less personal experience of the music and drama. Just so I don’t sound like an advert, their communication and admin is a bit hit and miss but overall we think they are providing what they say they do - an overall education in a supportive environment

I have a daughter in year 9 who is very into art, drama and music rather than sport. The school provides great opportunities on this front with extended art classes and trips, plays, musicals, a night where they take over the Hideaway Jazz club and also the chance to perform at the Royal Opera House. Lots of other extra curricular things going on as well eg in science, public speaking etc. Pastoral care has been pretty strong for us as well. My daughter treats her form teacher like a second mother and massively values her tough but caring advice. I would say it is great if your daughter is an all rounder looking to get involved in the life of the school and try out different things. It’s not as slick as some of its South London competitor schools - but I quite like that. It really depends what you are after!

Will be narrowing down choices for 11 plus. I dont want her sitting more than 4 or 5 and feel this school would be a great fit and so local..though nothing guaranteed until exams and results. Will visit next month as they have an open day for Seniors. Thank you!
