Graveney Waiting List

Postby DotingDad » Tue Mar 03, 2020 4:01 pm

So our DD has done very well but missed out on Graveney selection in the initial place allocation. Judging by previous years she has a sporting chance of getting in by 31st August based on her test score - although the waiting list is pretty long. Does anyone have insight about how much the waiting list goes down? She's currently at number 25 - but there are only 70 places so that's a high proportion that would need to pull out..
Any previous experiences gratefully received..

I feel for you, it is nail biting! We were in the same position last year, I think we were around the same place on the list too. We got a place in July, just in time to take part in the induction day. Lots of people accepting private school places drop out pretty immediately and then it goes a lot slower after the initial flurry. Hang on in there, it should happen, good luck.

My niece was number 11 on the list the year before last and got a place. Not sure exactly when but I know that independent school places have to be accepted by mid March so that usually gets the ball rolling.

No idea, but anyway, she's now been offered a place which is great. So for future reference - 25th to being accepted took from March to End-May. It just shows how much movement there is in school places.
Not sure what the in induction process will be like with the world as it is right now but hopefully school will actually start in September!

Any idea how far down the waiting list Graveney went this year? Just thinking about whether we have a fighting chance for next year.

We really like the school, but are also keen to hear if parents have been happy with the remote learning experience and the plans for a return to school.
