Can anyone recommend a good education consultant?

Postby AS16 » Tue Jun 30, 2020 11:31 am

Hello all,

Has anyone worked with or been advised by a good education consultant please? Would be great to have recommendations, and an idea of how much they would typically charge?

Neither my husband and I have been educated in the UK and are not very familiar with the education system here, so at the outset would love to have some informed guidance on the stages in the schooling process, points of transition such as Y7, 11+, and the different choices in this such as secondary, state - private transitions, grammar schools etc. Have tried to do our own research and reading on the internet but can't say we're confident we understand it all yet! A second level would also be information and comparisons across some specific schools.

Would love to know of your thoughts or any resources you could suggest!

Many thanks

Hello- I can highly recommend Janie Richardson.  She is fantastic and has worked as a head Teacher in London independent schools.  She has helped many students coming from abroad and also local students looking for the best fit.  Here is her website: https://jrschoolsearch.com

Best of luck!

Hello

Arabella Davies is a superb education and schools consultant who also works as a researcher for the Tatler Schools Guide so has all the insider knowledge of the UK's leading schools.

Couldn't recommend her more highly. Plus, she's really lovely, warm and friendly.

Here's her website: theirbestyears

Good luck!

I have never used the services of an educational consultant because it seems to me that it is useless. After all, you must understand yourself, what you are interested in and what you want to do in your life. When I was in high school, I thought for a very long time about who I wanted to become, and then it occurred to me that I had to study at a film school and start making my own movies. And I want to specialize more in art house because it's closer to me. By the way, I studied not in our country, but in Prague, at a special film school -- praguefilminstitute.cz.

I don't understand the point of paying an education consultant when you can now find out everything from the Internet. You can just look at the list of professions that correspond to your temperament and character on the Internet. You can also find out the relevance of your chosen profession in our time. Therefore, my advice to you is not to contact an education consultant because it is a waste of money, in my opinion. For example, I graduated from the economics department at asa miami college last year. My friend and I found this inconspicuous college on the Internet. We decided to enroll there together, and how surprised we were with how well students are treated there.
