Advice on way forward regarding fees Post Reply

After applying for a bursary, My son has been offered a reduction in fees at an excellent all boys secondary school. It is a generous offer but still not where we had hoped they would offer. We have played around with our finances and cannot see how we could afford what’s been offered.

We still really think it will best for our son and don’t know how to let school know that we are struggling to make such a financial commitment.

just to add we have gone through the means tested process and have 2 other kids.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

To be honest I would just pick up the phone! I bet that you won't be the only one talking to a bursar or registrations person about something like this. I think that we often forget that fee paying schools are businesses and are very used to have conversations about money.
