The Good Schools Guide is possibly the best and most impartial guide to schools covering a wide range of State and Private, Primary and Secondary Schools. Entries include information on the head teacher, entry requirements and procedures, where pupils go on to, provision of extras, pastoral care/SEND provision, what the pupils and parents are like, background & atmosphere of the School, fees & scholarships/bursaries and a final assessment. Also include a separate chapter on specialist SEND schools. Gives you the insight that no website or glossy brochure can offer! I found a great school that I didn't know existed for my child, so would highly recommend if you're looking at schools. Each volume sells for £25 each and these copies are barely used. Selling for £10 each or £15 for the 2 (plus p&p or collect from Stockwell).
