Wandsworth secondary school place allocation information for September 2021

Postby Test Club Tutors » Mon Mar 01, 2021 9:47 am

Wandsworth council have today published their annual information on how secondary school places have been allocated for September 2021.

https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/media/836 ... d_2021.pdf

You can compare with the information for previous years:

I hope families receive good news this week. If not, do remember to accept whatever place has been offered (so that you remain in the admissions system) and stay on the waiting lists for any preferred schools on your application. There is always some movement in waiting lists over the next couple of months.

Hi, does anyone have any experience of being in the catchment area for Belleville, putting Chestnut Grove as their first choice but getting Bolingbroke Academy? I’m wondering whether there is any chance of moving up the CG waiting list? This is normal entrance to CG, not the scholarship/ arts languages entrance. Thanks!

Hi,

I've taught children who've been in a similar situation in previous years and there is always some movement on the CG waiting list. Do you want to give me a call and I can share with you the benefit of my experience? Whatever you do though, don't reject the Bolingbroke offer.

I'm a test tutor but also a parent of three teens and so know full well just how stressful this time of year can be.

If you look at the linked doc to previous years you can see the movement in each band - your child's wandsworth test score will determine which band you have been placed in

I too am wondering for Chestnut Grove please. We are 36th on waiting list. I know there is a lot of movement but that much? Keeping everything crossed for us all wanting our preferred choice.

I'm sure it will move a lot. We were allocated Chestnut Grove, & as child did not make Graveney's extension group. Some will hold on to CG while being waitlisted for Graveney etc etc
We have only just accepted a place at an independent school today and will give up all our other offers including CG. Sure loads of movement to come everywhere in coming weeks and even months!
Has been a rubbish year as many of us did get to even visit the schools and I expect people may take longer deciding than normal.

We are number 45 in band C for Chestnut Grove and have given up hope of getting in. We are about 300m further out than last years admissions band and the admissions officer offered little hope.

Has been a very frustrating process with Covid restrictions and not seeing the schools.

Anyone have any positive stories about Lambeth Academy or Harris Clapham they would like to share?

Does anyone know how often the Wandsworth waiting list is being updated?
