Primary State School Open Days/show rounds

Postby balhamnewmum » Tue Sep 10, 2013 3:45 pm

Hello,
not sure if this is a stupid question or not but does anyone know when or if at all there are any open days or whether you can have a show round of a state primary schools for entry for september 2014. ( In particular Telferscot and Henry Cavendish)

My other half wants to have a look at our local primary state school before we fork out for the deposit of the private school place we have been offered. (leaving it a little late i know!)

i have been on the schools website but can't seem to find anything on there - can you just ring them up and ask for a show round?

Many thanks in advance!

Best thing is to always phone the schools directly - that way you can be certain. You can also check Wandsworth Council's website but obviously they may not list every school.

Thanks! Will keep trying (no one picking up at the moment!) plus didn't want to come across as too pushy!

Hi

Henry Cavendish does not have open days, they just arrange tours for interested parents in small groups which last around 30-40 mins. If you are trying to call them to arrange a date, I would suggest avoiding 8.45am to 9.30am, 11.45am to 12.45 and 3pm to 4pm as the office staff are usually busy dealing with parents in person during those times. If you are still having trouble getting through and you are able to do so (I appreciate that you may work), I would suggest dropping in during school hours to talk to them to arrange a time. For what it is worth, I have two daughters there, one in Year 6 and one in Year 1 and they and I are very happy with the school, but you definitely need to go and see the school yourself as your children and/or proirties in a school may well be different to mine!

BTW, Henry Cavendish is in Lambeth, and I think that Telferscot may well be too.
