Strongly suspect that actuallydad's disappointing offer was my 1st choice! Made me laugh. It's a lovely school.

If anyone wants any info about High View feel free to send me a PM - I am a parent of a child who has been very happy there for the past two years, has made good friends and has had an excellent start academically.

Yes, and I'm happy to do the same about Ravenstone. It's a brilliant school, we're very happy with it - I have 2 there presently and hope my third will be joining in September!

Shrinking catchments are featured on page 1 and 2 of the times today. They even refer to Honeywell.

We got our first choice. We live just over 500 metres away. It's a faith school so there are other criteria in addition to distance.

All of the information re how Wandsworth primary school places for September 2015 were allocated is available to download on the Wandsworth Council website:

http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/downloads/ ... re_offered

It's interesting that both of the free schools - Tooting Primary School and Rutherford House School seem to have become very popular, indeed more popular than established and reasonably well though of neighbouring schools. This is the first year I can recall that Fircroft and Ravenstone admitted all applicants without regard to distance.

The Belleville catchment area seems to have increased quite a bit this year?

I know people who got into BV who thought they were well out of catchment. Looks like it's increased by 200m. Could this be down to the change in policy about what constitutes a temporary address? Ie.....short term rentals no longer acceptable if you still own your previous address? I had heard ( playground gossip) in February that 8-10 BV applicants had had their address rejected on the basis that it was deemed temporary. Could there have been that many strategic renters in previous years?

It looks as though much of the Northern half of BTC would now be within Belleville catchment. Obviously doesn't mean it would stay that way in future.

This influences the sibling rule debate.

Previously it was a question of a sibling say 900m away getting priority over a non-sibling 250m away. Now, at least wrt Belleville, it's a question of a sibling 900m away getting priority over a non-sibling 500m away. The rationale for a rule change seems less compelling.

Does anyone know how to get the offer distances for the Lambeth Schools? I called the council and they seemed clueless. The couldn't even tell me where we are on the waiting lists. Wandsworth Council on the other hand have been very helpful.

It's really nice to hear that some catchments are getting bigger rather than smaller. Does anyone know first offer distance for honeywell?
