Coffee machine recommendation

Postby Starfish1 » Fri Jul 16, 2021 4:00 pm

Thinking of upgrading our very old espresso maker and wondering if anyone could recommend theirs? Would ideally like one that could heat the milk separately as I love my coffee really hot! Thank.

Alternatively get the sage bambino plus, it’s great. Really slim and amazing especially if you want to make lattes.

We have the Sage Barista and absolutely love it! We’ve recommended to friends and family. It helped us get through Lockdown (we have two young children and work full time). I’d suggest a trip to Peter Jones in Sloane Square to try the different models available.

Do get Puly descaler sachets to keep the machine in top condition. The wand can get blocked with all the hard London water but this product does wanders.

I've got an Illy Francis Francis X1 which has been good. I did buy it on looks but also because a friend of mine had one so I'd seen it in action too.

I've had to have it sent off for repairs though but that was because I was (when I remembered) using bottled water when apparently tap is better, said the Illy service centre.

What about a Bialetti espresso maker used on the hob (with Lavazza coffee) - technology isn't always best!

I can highly recommend Krups Evidence Been to cup.

I've been using mine since last year July and it's a life saver (specially after sleepless night with a toddler 😅)

We have a delonghi la specialista and it’s amazing. For milk although we could use the coffee machine’s frother, I am obsessed with the nespresso aeroccino, much easier to clean and perfect froth every time!! It also has a cold setting, which is handy for iced coffee….
