Emmas mattresses, any good?

Postby handbagsatdawn » Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:21 am

I need a buy new mattress and am thinking of getting one of the Emma brand. Can anyone tell me what they think? Are they worth the extra?

I bought one and while it was comfortable before I also bought a topper to go on it (I get back ache so was looking for extra comfort)
It is now extremely comfortable and like sleeping on a cloud :)

I used to wakeup with lower back pain every day until we changed our mattress for an Emma one. On that basis I would definitely recommend.

Plus, they have a really great returns policy if you decide it's not for you after trying it out for six months or something!

Have to say I’m not hugely happy with mine. Caveat is that I am a bigger person, but I find I have to turn it round once or twice a week because it becomes too soft and squashy and gives me terrible backache and bad sleep. I think it’s probably designed for people who are smaller/lighter.

A cousin bought and recommended the Emma mattress but from my own experience of it when I visited it was too soft and it definitely triggered my bad back. When I was looking for another family member more recently I bought him the (slightly more expensive I think) Eve mattress instead which is pocket sprung so more evenly supporting and described as medium firm. This one doesn't seem to get the same number of recommendations but it seems to have been a good choice. When my partner and I were looking for mattresses we found soft didn't work for one of us and firm didn't work for the other but a medium firm mattress did the trick.. maybe this will help?
