Really sorry guys but we have to keep it professional.

Although it was the funniest post I've read in a long long time :-)

Although not Protia Design experience - we were stung by two companies - John De Guerin and Cellarwise - lost a huge amount of cash.

Cellarwise - nothing we could do but John De Guerin sounds like the chap at Protia Design. We contacted his local trading standards (Kent) and got all the people ripped off by him to do the same. They then built a case against him and we took him to court and he got 3 years for fraud. We got no money back but a little satisfaction that he is behind bars.

My advice is get as many people together as possible and build a case to take to trading standards and see if they will take on the hard work of taking him to court on your behalf

If you have any specific questions - send me an email

Trading standards is one way but they only tend to go after people like Espen Jewhurt when he's trading. Explore the industry bodies like Gas Safe and NICEIC. Think about the other businesses he's connected with. They're easy to find.

An engineering background?

Not sure about this but I knew him when he was a jumped up little estate agent. Absolutely full of it and seemed to spend most of his time just swanning around Lavender Hill.

Not sure it will make any of you feel any better, but I wiped the floor with him when I was an agent!

But, on a serious note, you really have to be so careful with builders. In the last ten years, I have seen so many failed estate agents suddenly become 'building experts'. Frightening.

Oops, so over excited that I seem to have posted twice.

If anyone is still looking for builders, we used Collinstown in Streatham and would definitely use them again. They did exactly what they said they would and prices only went up when I kept adding things on.

I have no links to them other than being a client.

He didn't do engineering. He did property management at Oxford Brooke's. When I first met him he told me he rowed for Oxford (university). Turns out it wasn't true. His brother did engineering though and is a decent chap.

Could a site administrator tell me if I'm allowed to put Espen's contact details on this forum? I would be happy to pass them on to anyone who needs to contact him

Also, he is now "Managing Director" of Smallacre Investments along with his father, John Jewhurst, and another director who amazingly has the name Espen Jewhurst too.

I think we need to take this further than a simple discussion forum. People need to know what he is doing, let's try and think creatively as to how we can stop this bad behaviour. Does anyone have any journalistic contacts? My friends at the Mail and the Independent say this is too small for them to look at but they mentioned looking into local newspapers. Perhaps drafting an open letter to a newspaper with a true and fair description of what has been happening to us?

Ah, Espen Jewhurst and his engineering degree. Only thing he engineers is lies. How many thousands of pounds of other peoples money did he spend on trips to South Africa and Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi while rain poured in through the unfinished and abandoned building sites? Then there was all the aggro from his builders. I had to get the police involved 4 times to deal with threats of violence or theft. In my last call, his builder said he could have me taken out with just one call to a hit man. Didn't have the guts to do it himself, I guess. John and Sissel Jewhurst must be so proud of their little entrepreneur.

Yes, I like how Sissel Jewhurst is down as a director. Job title "Housewife". I wonder if she's still massaging feet? http://sisselsone.no/index.php?option=c ... i&Itemid=2
