I have been thinking about getting a kitchen extension for a while and a company called My London Extensions really impressed. David really seemed to know his stuff. We haven't started yet but if we get get the funds together we would most likely go with them. Local fim, try them out?

When I have been investigating loft companies to use with friends and Mum's at school (there's a lot of them who are having or had loft conversions at our school). I discovered that all the big players are fronted by sleek marketing material and great sales people, but the actual build is subtracted out to builders - and it's the luck of the draw who you get.
The sales woman from Landmark is renowned for promising to over see your project from start to finish, but once you've signed up, you'll never see or hear from her again! I've also heard some shocking stories about people's experience too - as some other posts have mentioned. There's also the issue of Landmark being fanatical about removing negative reviews (type Landmark into this site and see the trail of emails - interesting reading!) In my view I'd stay away!!

Moo moo is right about the industry, although I can't say anything about any company in particular as I haven't done my research into the individual cases. In general though you will find companies will promise anything, which you'll find common in every industry. It's not to say they won't deliver on those promises but how do you know they will? You need to make sure you find trustworthy companies that don't have a supermarket model when it comes to loft conversions, home extensions, renovations etc. This will ensure you're dealing directly with the people you need to be and no element of quality or service will be skipped over.

It's becoming increasingly hard to navigate through the Jungle now days with glossy and manipulative marketing campaigns. If you have any concerns and need any advice please feel free to get in touch.

Best Regards
Jamie

I would highly recommend "Build London" (based in Balham).
We had our loft done through "South London lofts" and they use "Build London" to so all of the work. You can go straight to Build London.
We have been so pleased with everything.
Anyone who sees our place is also very impressed by the quality of the work.
Good luck!

I'm currently using Battersea Builders. Ask for Tahir.

So far so good.

Hello
I would like to get a loft conversion done.
In my previous house I used South London Lofts and I would like to use another company this time.
I was thinking of Simply Loft. Any thoughts on them.
I have seen a couple of Landmark jobs in the streets around me but they did not reply to me.

Hi,
I can highly recommend Galvin Lofts & Renovations.
Jason Galvin has been renovating homes in the area for many years. They did an amazing job on my house, both a loft conversion and a ground floor extension.
Email is info@galvinlofts.co.uk
Ph: 07775-610 107
No sales pitch, just great work, quality finish.

I have a Mum friend at school who still trying to finish her loft with Landmark, she's had a shocking time with them..they've taken twice along to build it, costs have rocketed because things have been left off the contract, even though they were on the plans, like a pair of french doors?? And some of the stories she's told us about people working there, you couldn't make it up! Above all she feels completely let down my Landmark as they don't give a hoot about anything besides getting their hands on the money. It seems that they have lost their way and have grown too big to care (if they ever did in the first place) - it's just all about the money!

Hi All,

I've seen lots of posts on here asking for recommendations on loft conversion companies. We are a local renovations company based in Earlsfield (South West London) We also project manage each renovation, ensuring that works are running to schedule, we help with Skip hire, Purchasing of products as well as the style and finish. We can also assist with Planning permission and have a reliable architect on hand.

We have carried out many Loft conversions in the local area and have several clients who would be more than happy for potential clients to look at their finished project.

Take a look at our website www.bethellprojects.co.uk and feel free to contact us on info@bethellprojects.co.uk

Why not try Alan Beirne the builder. He has over 40 years of experience doing loft conversions, gives great advice and can work well with just about any architect/ engineer as well as clients. He can provide references going back about as far as that as well for just about every domestic building project under the sun apart from basement excavations.
You can ring him on 07904 376665. He taught me everything I know. Limitless knowledge and he's a time served electrician as well.

Hi,

Just wanted to introduce ourselves as a loft conversion and renovations company. Run by Rebecca Bethell ( a local mum) we also project manage every renovation, taking the stress out of planning, skip hire, ensuring the build is on schedule etc.

We take the time to meet you and discuss your plans and ideas and advise on how to make the best of your space.

We have completed many projects locally and have several clients who we are still in touch with, who are always happy for people to take a look at their renovation.

If you require any advise, please feel free to contact us
