BUILDER RECOMMENDATIONS FOR KITCHEN EXTENSION

Postby gdavies » Thu Jul 30, 2015 10:33 am

Hi Everyone,

I'd be so grateful if anyone could recommend a builder they have used. This is for a kitchen extension at the back of our house, with bi-fold doors at the end.

We already have the architect drawings, which are now with planning, so we are now wanting to get some builders over to quote.

Any suggestions would be just fantastic!

Thanks so much.

Gx

Hi!

I have done full house refurbishment which included side return extension as well. We were working with WERNER AND WERNER. Very pleased with their work, great cooperation with customers - everything was done as planned and on time. They helped us with planning permissions but for you, probably, it's not essensial. They do free quote as well. This is their website:

And some pics of finished projects:

Good Luck!

I hope you find a good builder, I will also be needing one soon for the same sort of job. Could I please ask who your architect is and if you can recommend him?

Thanks so much for these. Our architect is simonjewell@artformarchitects.com

I've PM'd you about him as couldn't find how to reply publicly - but now I think I have?!

They are great - very keen and really good at what they do. And also really nice guys - their main office is in Manchester and they also have a London office they are trying to grow. So they are keen to put on a good show and make sure you are 100% happy!

Hi, I would recommend the company which I have hired for loft conversion in my house. I know that they do also extensions, they are extremely professional and attentive, during the whole process, they kept me informed about the works and their builders were very hard-working! Additionally, they gave me more ideas and luckily helped me with design :)

Happy to give you the name of our builders if you PM me.
We searched for builders for months, meeting around 12 altogether before finding the ones that are doing our project.
There are lots to avoid due to their ridiculous costs and also it's amazing how many don't want to do proper quotes too.
A decent builder will spend the time with you going through everything that you would like to achieve and source the best items for you to use, at the best price.
Select your architect carefully as many will charge a lot for not doing much.
Have some good drawings done and then get a confident builder to project manage as it will save you lots of money too.
Best of luck

Hi, we are just at completion of our kitchen extension with bi-folds with a company called green construction who I'd highly recommend - they've been absolutely fantastic, the team have workedreally hard and it's all almost complete in 8 weeks!!
Build team have been managed really well and they've been really great at helping us manage living through the process with baby and 2 cats
They're local - putney / southfields based and have been doing work around here for 30 odd years. I'm super glad I found them after a LONG search!
The contact is Sherif on 07715 413294
They've kept to budget and they weren't one of these ridiculously priced builders but don't cut corners

I would highly recommend Robert Adams at georgeadamsproperties.com. mobile 07770 477460
He did my extension and has done others in Chelsea. we have all been very satisfied. He is ex army (Guards) and employs reliable builders who work very hard.
Good luck
