Kitchen Brands: Schuller vs Hacker vs Magnet?

Postby dahokolomoki » Mon Apr 17, 2017 10:33 pm

Looking for a new kitchen, and have been bamboozled by the huge range of options out there. So looking to see if someone has had a Schuller, Hacker, or Magnet kitchen put in - or if you've rejected these brands for something else!

Schuller - I absolutely adore the glass front matt doors. They look so amazing, but will they be as amazing once at home? They are also really expensive! Probably £25k+ for my kitchen size.

Hacker - seems good quality, but a lack of colour options (5-7) as I'm going for a handleless modern looking kitchen in glossy or matt. Also rather expensive - around £20k.

Magnet - I had a Magnet glossy white handleless in our flat before, and it worked amazingly well. No issues, and still looked as good as new five years later. But somehow, for our new house which we plan to live in for the next 10 years or more, I'm wondering if I should go for a higher quality. I haven't got the final quote from Magnet yet, but expect maybe £10k to £15k.

Any thoughts from NVNers on the three kitchen brands above? Especially if you've had a handleless, modern style (non-Shaker) put in recently by these brands, or another brand!

Hiya,

Not sure if you are still looking for designers/kitchen manufactures, but you could pop into our kitchen showroom in Wimbledon Park for a FREE design consultation (and a coffee!). Please see our website: http://www.neilnortondesign.com for inspiration and more info. Best, Lewis.

Shop around on the Hacker quote as they do vary from supplier. There are two ranges, one is basic white carcases, the other grey/maybe other colours - can't remember the names, Classic I think. Anyway, door fronts are the same but big difference in price. Usual rules apply: cupboards cheaper than drawers, internals and deco shelves/side panels are expensive. I've just had a Hacker installed and very happy with it - matt taupe. Schuller came in slightly more expensive, didn't try Magnet. HTH.

Choose Leicht - very good, not a silly price (but not cheap) and there is a showroom by battersea park
