What about the old Peabody Estate. What's that going to be? Building works seem to have come to a holt. It's just a big empty space now. Probably too close to Highview.

Thought the same about empty classrooms at Bolingbrook. Bulge class there???
I'll ask about Firestation.

I'm meeting our MP tomorrow.

Its chicken and egg. Do you create new schools first or try to fix the problem of renters and siblings so the new schools don't suffer from the same issues as the current ones? Personally I see the rules reed to be amended so that those that can't understand the spirit in which they were written are made to comply and everyone within reason goes to their local school, be it the current schools or new ones.

Has anyone been offered High View and actually visited? What did you think? Even better, would be great to hear about the school from a pupils parents perspective.

I'd like to visit but no Open Days lined up. I've emailed asking for a visit but have not heard back.

Apparently the school has recently appointed a new headmistress and she has subsequently had a staff reshuffle and redundancy round. I read Ofsted and read the website (many pages are empty) back in November and it didn't convey the shake-up or new thinking or it's recent successes.

More recently, I looked again, much better info (perhaps I missed it the first time) and I also looked at School Performance tables. The KS2 scores are better than Belleville and getting close to Honeywell.

273 I have pm'd you. I'm a High View parent, with a child going into reception next year. It was our first choice school, having also used the nursery. I hope you get an opportunity to go and visit. My son loves it.

Wix English stream (30places) offer distance this year 515m on offer day, pupil services just told me.

Last year brochure says was 418m on offer day, extending to 532m by publication date of brochure (August I think).
Last year they were 6 siblings admitted to the 30 places in the English stream, but don't know how many siblings this year.

Last year all 14 places in the bilingual stream went to siblings, but I don't know situation this year

To clarify at Wix:
English stream (30 places)
This year, on offer day so April, offers made to 9 siblings and then made out to 515m.
Last year English stream offers were made to 6 siblings (30 places) and then out to 418m, extending to 532m by the time the brochure was published (August?)

This year and last year all 14 places in bilingual stream went to siblings.

If anyone is interested in organizing the start up of a new school, this location has just come up on rightmove which would be a great location for a new primary:

Has anyone thought about the church which is the corner of Bolingbrook and Ravenslea Road - the grounds are amazing, large and perfect location. The church is hardly ever used and would make for a fantastic new school location. I would love to hear anyone's feedback!

Hey Tilly&Roo, you're right, that is an amazing spot for a new school. It's right next to the night gale end of BTC which is currently out of guaranteed catchment of all the local schools.

I know nothing about starting a new free school but let's hope that someone who does reads this!

Sorry I got the address slightly wrong. It is a massive area surrounding a church that is never visited. Corner of Nightingale, Ravenslea and Bolingbroke. It would make for a perfect school - right opp Wandsworth Common.....Has anyone recommended this site to a MP?

Perhaps at the Northcote Road Fete we should gather signatures to take to the MP/ Council. 100's will be there.
