Breast feeding consultant

Hi

Can anyone recommend a breast feeding councillor that will come to your home (wandsworth)? I know NCT have groups but would like a 1-1 in addition?

It was six years ago, but I used Clare Byam-Cook. I went to her house but she did home visits, too. She got my son latched and feeding within a couple of minutes. Every midwife and 'expert' at St Thomas' had failed to do so.

I would also recommend Geraldine Miskin. She diagnosed my daughter's tongue tie (missed by the NHS even though my daughter spent 3 weeks in hospital and struggled to latch) which made a huge difference.

However more than that she also gave very clear and logical advice and explanations about position, latch, routine, winding, and alternatives if we did not want to cut the tongue tie. All without ever being pushy about breastfeeding or any particular way of doing things.

I'd also suggest in addition visiting a milk spot in lambeth. I visited the clapham manor and found Bev enormously helpful.

I utilised private consultants also but Bev gave me a big breakthrough in identifying that the way I was cuddling baby was making it hard for her to stay latched, something the other consultants hadn't picked up on.

What exactly is your problem may I ask?
