CHOKING - would you know what to do?

Postby Surreymum » Wed Sep 30, 2015 10:58 am

It's a horrible thought to think of your child or another child being in an emergency situation, having the skills and learning how to deal with situations such as CHOKING, providing the CORRECT artificial BREATHING and CHEST COMPRESSIONS, BASIC LIFE SUPPORT and putting your child into the recovery position are essential life saving skills to have.

At Tempo Tots we feel very passionate about these skills and giving one the confidence to be able to help should one need to. Our next and very popular PAEDS FIRST AID COURSE offers all of this and the evening course is run by the fantastic Katie, FMC First Aid. Essential training for all those who come into contact with young children, whether parents, grandparents, childminders or nannies!

Thursday 15th October

7.30-9.30pm

The Crossways next to St Stephens Church, Marble Hill - East Twickenham

This vital 2 hour course covers :

- Providing correct artificial breathing and chest compressions
- Basic Life Support
- Recognising and treating choking
- Putting your baby or child into the recovery position.
- Hands on practice and time for Q&As

Katie brings along resuscitation dolls appropriate to the ages of the children to help demonstrate the actions needed. Every person in the class is given ample opportunity to practice and boost their confidence.

The content of this Basic Life Support class complies with both British and European Resuscitation Guidelines and is internationally recognised as appropriate for the first responder action required to save a baby’s or child’s life.
