Did you get your first choice 2016 primary school?

Postby Annabel (admin) » Fri Apr 15, 2016 12:42 pm

Hi
Last year we had a very popular thread where our users shared their news on primary school "offers" day.

It is this coming Monday so I wanted to create a thread where the same conversations but for 2016 could occur.

Good luck everyone and do please share!

Thank you.

If you applied online for the primary school place, you will be emailed the outcome of your application on Monday 18 April.

If you applied on a paper form, you will be sent your outcome letter by first class mail on 18 April.

Good luck!

:D

Yes! Thank goodness.
Finding it difficult to celebrate completely when so much more should be being done to stop people fiddling the system though. It was a tense wait, and an upsetting time, and other friends (also VERY local) haven't been so lucky.

Congratulations.
and other friends (also VERY local) haven't been so lucky.
can I ask if you mean as in friends who were further out the catchment area but still close enough to expect to get in? Just wasn't sure if you meant friends who were actually further in.

Congrats again

Yes, that's what I meant - just a little further out than us.

Got 3rd choice which was sort of first choice as I didn't expect to get into Honeywell or Belleville but put them anyway so the council couldn't claim I got first choice.

I'm sorry you didn't get your first two.

Smart move to put them down though...

Just wanted to try to reassure people who didn't get their first choice school - try not to panic there is lots of movement on the list.
We are 253m from Honeywell and 278m from Belleville and 2 years ago we were 22nd and 23rd on the waiting list - got offered Highview initially. By the start of July we had been offered a place at Belleville which we accepted. Also this year Belleville are offering another 30 places for reception which would make 120 children at webbs and 30 at children.
Good luck everyone and remember this is just the start. My second son is starting reception in September.

As first choice demand increased 62% for Alderbrook this year, they've added a third Reception class for September. This is GREAT news, as the school is wonderful (we're in the Nursery). But that's apparently still not enough for everyone who lives near us. The council needs to do even more to fix this "no man's land" along Clapham Common between Broomwood and Nightingale Lane. :|

I'd love to hear from anyone who got a place at Belleville/Honeywell - how far away are you? It's frustrating getting some information from the council today but having to wait for information on waiting lists.
