Recommendation for chinese t/a please!

What do you all recommend aside of Good Earth? Anything else worth the effort/money? Had some duffers from Hungry House. Advice please!

We’ve been trying to find one for years so I hope someone can answer this. We’ve always had to stray towards Thai (not that painful) but do prefer a good Chinese.

We've resigned ourselves to the fact that unless you're prepared to put up with low quality, generic Cantonese then a trip to Chinatown is the only option. It's getting that way with finding a decent curry too and we often make a trek to Tooting rather than risk disappointment.

Ended up using Hot Take on Battersea Park Road. Same menu but better cooking and preparation than others I've tried recently. Will give it another go but there is a real hole the market for someone maybe? Some of the best food I've ever eaten was Hong Kong street traders.

There is a big hole in the market for a second local option to The Good Earth. There is an excellent authentic place next to the Wing Yip supermarket near Croydon Ikea/John Lewis Home. If I head out that way I get takeaway to heat up later. It's the real deal and makes a visit to Ikea bearable. Apart from that it's either central or NW London so far as I know.

Camille is delicious, but that's Thai.

I agree there's a big lack of good quality Chinese takeway/delivery in the area.

I'm a big fan of Good Earth, and that's my standard go-to. Its not cheap though!

One tip for Good Earth Restaurant - they have a proper restaurant (near Wandsworth Common) and a Good Earth Express (just for deliveries/takeaway).

I find that the quality from the Good Earth Restaurant is much better.

If you ring them up, they'll happily deliver locally. Free delivery too, over 20 pound spend. Only thing is they're not available through any of the apps, so you have to ring them to order and pay in cash on delivery.

Another place I love for takeaway/delivery - Pho Ta. Its Vietnamese, not Chinese, but they do amazing pho noodles and at very reasonable prices too. The soup is actually super hot when it arrives, which is the secret to great pho. They're available on the Just Eat app.

Agree there is a dearth of really good Chinese around here and Good Earth is expensive. Bayee Village in Wimbledon is worth a look if you're in SW19.

Hadn't heard of Camile before, but looking at their site I see they're opening new branches in Battersea and Clapham to add to the one in Tooting Bec, so that sounds like good news.

Agree with the post above that the takeaway Good Earth on St Johns Hill is far inferior to the restaurant - I’d go as far as to say not very nice at all.

Camille is great. They have a bell that you can ring on your way out if you enjoyed your meal. It rings a lot.

Just a coincidence that I received a flyer in the mailbox today for Camile.

They're offering a 20% discount for collection, and 10% discount for deliveries, as part of their opening offer.

20% code: 2u5bs9q
10% code: 4f6t3e2

Orders to be made on their website to qualify for the discounts.

McChina in wimbledon is A-mazing. We moved to Earlsfield last year and were recommended it by a local antiques dealer here. It might be a bit far for Clapham / Battersea delivery though.

I'd say as good a quality as Good Earth and half the price!
