Oh no, that's a shame. It was excellent value for money, and the staff were always friendly and helpful.

I agree that Roxy’s Does amazing steak! I tended to not notice it but a friend suggested it and it was the best meal i’d had in a long time! Plus sticking with that side of the traffic lights finally a Pret is opening which although a chain means there’s more choice for a sandwich to grab in your lunch break!

Draft House have just been taken over by Brew Dog, so expect the one on Northcote Road will change to a Brew Dog. Although there is already one on Battersea Rise, so maybe they won't keep both sites.

I am really pleased with the Pret opening just off Northcote Road, it’s nice, bright and spacious with loads of room to come with a buggy and lots of high chairs.

Are there any more upcoming openings / developments on Northcote Road? I see Wallace Cotton has opened and also a kitchen shop. Looks like the site where Northcut was has been sold, any idea of plans for it?

I still think we could use a good (meaning one with a wide selection of stuff) DIY shop like Robert Dyas, and a good, well priced children’s clothes shop like H&M kids or Next kids!

I second a recent poster - I would also love a good quality sushi place and middle eastern! Both the places on Battersea Rise that sell this type of food are not that inspiring (I don’t mean BabaBoom - they are great, but always super crowded, so clearly there is a huge market for upmarket kebabs!)

I agree Szerma!

Prets are by far my favourite chain - for both coffee and service.

Couple of years ago there was a Costa on the site with the rudest manager you could (not) wish for...their front store used to grate and stick half open and I was walking out with my coffee when the the door jolted and stuck - causing me to drop my coffee on their mat.

The manager saw this and when I returned to get another cup he didn't offer a free replacement despite the door being like that for months so I paid and left (I didn't ask or demand a replacement being lily livered in such things but I was very disapointed none the less and confirmed my beleif that Costa staff seem to be less freindly generally)

Also the Starbucks has closed on the opposite side of St John's Road has closed which suits me fine - being my least favourite coffee chain! :D

I saw this morning that the same people that make the sushi in Sainsburys Southside (Sushi Daily) are opening a counter in Waitrose on St Johns Road. Although you cant sit down and eat in, I think this sushi is fabulous quality for a takeaway - (better than Itsu). I'm chuffed.

Cath Kidson gone too. Northcote Road is getting very quiet at the far end. Maybe the site will take a much needed Little Waitrose or similar?

Not sure Waitrose would want another site at higher rent when they have one on St John's already? Gandy's has re-opened with advertising stating "pop-up shop", so I guess that's another big site up for grabs soon.

There are an awful lot of empty places now but retail is harder than ever. Not only have we all caught the internet shopping bug, most of us have less money in our pockets to spend and the economic uncertainty of Brexit. A perfect storm.

Walked by the former ParkRoad Kitchen shop this morning and saw a planning notice advertised. It's going to be a Manifesto restaurant, which according to the planning application, does pizzas. Not clear on the documents whether that'll be a kind of take away pizza place or a sitting down one.

So now it’s pizza all the rage as opposed to beef two or three years ago? I’m fascinated how the financial services company will work on the old cluttons site.

Hi, I am the founder of Manifesto, we're very excited to be opening in Northcote road where I lived and worked for many years. I know there is already a lot of pizza on the street but Manifesto will be organic and will be offering a very different kind of service for both eat in and takeaway.
We'll be announcing a local soft launch soon, I hope you can make it to see what we've done with the space and try some of our food!
