Cycling mums

Postby Lilawhite » Fri Sep 07, 2018 10:53 am

Hi! My ds just started nursery this september and I was looking to go back to cycling. Was wondering if anyone knows of a cycling group (beginners, need to get fit again), that rides in Richmond Park? I usually do a few laps there in the morning and find that maybe joining a group might keep me going!

Thank you so much.

Following the thread as I'd be interested too - although not sure I'd manage a few laps two max 😆

Hi Pod! Oh don't worry, when I say a few laps it means two as well, I'm just coming back to it so have a little while to go! Do you ride in Richmond Park? Maybe we could meet up one morning :) ... hopefully there is a group somewhere!

Never been on one but this is advertised in the Belleville parents newsletter regularly - bike rides for women (hope link works - it should take you straight to sw11 search results!)

Hi Ladies,

If anyone fancies a few laps (prob 2 max at the mo!) of Richmond Park early on a sat or Sunday morning, I would love to join! I used to cycle a lot pre kids and would love to get back into it again

Hi all
There are a number of local bike groups you can join who meet in Richmond Park for laps but also arrange longer rides. The Richmond Rouleurs meet every Saturday morning for 2 laps (one in each direction - takes about 1 hour) and Clapham Cyclehams also start their rides there. Both friendly groups that welcome beginners. You can find them on Meetup or do a web search. Good luck!

I would definitely be up for a couple of laps of RP post drop off one morning during the week. Used to cycle a lot but haven’t done much recently and miss my old group of bike girls.

Thank you Marita! I will have a look at both, it would be lovely to join a group. Are you a member of either?

There are lots of women's groups riding Thursday morning around Richmond Park when I train.  I'll ask if there's a social media group or blog this week.

Hi again,
Great feedback everyone thank you!
I'm def keen - an early Sunday morning could work! A group ride would be super, I can't commit until start of October as I have a triathlon end of sept but something through autumn winter would be ace!!
