Martial Arts class for 5yr old

Hi there,

Does anyone have a recommendation of a Martial Arts class for kids that would be suitable for a 5yr old boy in the Clapham/Balham/Wandsworth area?

I have googled but would be great to get the views of people who have tried classes.

Hapkido at Broomwood Church on Kyrle Road is v good and has a whole range of ages from 5

Jon Bailie at Clapham martial art (ex Semokwan hapkido) is great! My son is Black belt now and has been training with him for 8 years. Still going strong and enjoying the various trainings. I do recommend strongly

Definitely Jon - he taught my boy 8 years ago and goes from strength to strength. I serious professional approach but kids respect that - if they don’t make the grade they don’t pass the tests but they always get support to try again. And they learn when it is right to use martial arts - what are they for - defence not attack - and all sorts of side benefits like how to fall safely (great for skiing tumbles) here’s the link - scroll down for the timetable.

Check out Choi Kwang Do on Garrat Lane.
Run by MA&Y. Mr Johnson is amazing with kids. More of a defence sport rather than a competitive one. I do it with my 10y old and he loves it. Starts at 5y old
