Schools Guide -grammar schools

Postby Greenfields » Wed Sep 19, 2018 8:54 am

Hi

I have just received a copy of the schools guide which has been an interesting read as I have a year 3 child so just beginning to start to think about secondary options. So much to get my head around!

I noticed the guide didn’t mention the Sutton borough Grammar schools. Is this because not many kids from nappy valley go to them? Do people consider the journey as being too long?

Thanks

My advice would to get up one morning and do the commute yourself.
We tried - it was over an hour door to door.
Then ask if you want your child wasting 2 hours of their life commuting to school everyday for the next 7 years.

A few think it’s worth it - but they don’t have to do the commute.

Hi Greenfields
Many thanks for your kind words re the Schools Guide.

By way of background - when we launched the Schools Guide we based the content around the questions that had been asked on the site that previous year. Obviously with limited space we covered the most frequently asked ones.

I will make a note to see how we can include Grammar schools next year.

In the meantime I will call your post out in the Monday email.

Thank you for posting

Following! I'd be really interested to know if people manage to make this journey work for their kids.
