Appeal for St George's special care baby unit

Postby JamTart » Tue Apr 28, 2020 6:05 pm

Dear SW London parents and supporters, this is an appeal for St George's Hospital neo-natal unit, caring for 600+ sick and premature babies across London every year:

Many of us have had babies at St George's, some of whom have had to spend days or weeks in its outstanding NNU, a stressful enough experience without even considering the availability of equipment, or the additional strain placed on the unit by the coronavirus lockdown.

The unit currently needs more baby respirators. This appeal is to raise £8,000 to buy one high-flow baby respirator and help ease the strain. More info at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/baby-respirator
Apologies for asking at such a difficult time for many. Even a small donation would help support your local NHS Hospital and some of its most vulnerable patients. For whatever you can do to help, many, many thanks from St George's.
JT for First Touch (the charity of St G’s NNU). We would be grateful if you could forward/tweet the JustGiving link to others who might want to help: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/baby-respirator

We have managed to raise almost £1.5k of our £8,000 target to fund a baby respirator for St George's neonatal unit!
Many thanks to those who have generously donated, including twin parents, Finton parents, Broomwood parents, as well as several other kind people.
We would love to reach our target by the end of May so the respirator can be ordered quickly. If you would like to donate in any small way we would be truly grateful. And if you feel you can share the campaign with others in your network please do!

St George's NICU appeal for baby respirator

Postby JamTart » Mon May 18, 2020 4:21 pm

thanks to your help we have passed the 30% mark, almost at £2,500 of our £8,000 target.

realise full well that this is not an easy time for most of us, but newborn babies keep arriving at St George's to be cared for, and their futures - vision, hearing, muscular control, learning ability - depend on having the right equipment available. If just a few NVNetters can spare a small donation towards the cost of the baby respirator it would be a great help.

Again, many thanks for your support. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/baby-respirator

We are now just over one thousand pounds short of our £8k target towards a much-needed baby respirator for St George's Hospital.

In the current Covid environment w
e weren't certain we would get there, but thanks to the generosity of many of you it now looks very possible! We hope to be able to make the purchase at the end of June.

If you would like to donate, or know of someone who might want to, here's the link:

A huge THANK YOU to NappyValleyNet and the community for your support!
