HOW TO KEEP ON TRACK WITH 11+ PREP OVER THE SUMMER

Postby Jess from Mentor Education » Tue Jul 21, 2020 12:43 pm

We have had lots of calls from parents asking us how they can help their child stay on track over the summer, whilst giving them a well deserved break from the stresses of the past few months.

Our advice is always to take a proper break over the holiday with a little and often approach to study to help keep young brains ticking over.

Lots of outdoors is a given, however down-time can provide plenty of learning opportunities such as reading, audio books, mental maths, handling money, writing shopping lists, keeping a diary and watching film adaptations of the classics like Oliver Twist, Little Women, Willy Wonka, and Mary Poppins.

For those children with an 11+ examination on the horizon a little more structure is vital. We have a full support programme running over the summer for year 5 children transitioning to Year 6 and preparing for Independent and Grammar school tests including Alleyn's, City, DC, Emanuel, GDST, JAGS, KCS, Wallington and Wilsons.

It provides a complete academic profile and helps identify subject strengths and weaknesses. This can play a key role in 11+ planning and school choices. Call the Assessment team to ask about our offer of £245.

Have a lovely Summer.
