Dyson hairdryers

Postby gemima » Mon Nov 21, 2022 10:59 am

Oh my goodness, these are so expensive they must be doing something right!  Does anyone use them for straightening and if so, which one should I buy please?

A ha ha, you mean you haven't used it yet because it's too much faff?  Or it is too complicated?

So I had a Dyson hairdryer and found it slightly quicker than a regular hairdryer but not a massive difference. My main purpose was to save time as I have thick long hair. However, I then sold it and upgraded to the Air wrap. Completely agree with previous poster cannot for the life of me work out how to use the curlers despite watching numerous You Tube videos and just don’t think it’s meant for long, thick hair (I tend to want to reduce volume/frizz, not add!) HOWEVER, thr straightening air brush is a game changer and makes drying long hair straight so much quicker!! It’s a shame they don’t just sell it as one or the other for half the price!!!

I have a GHD Glide heated hairbrush for sale, brand new and excellent for controlling frizz.

I asked for one for my birthday and got gifted 2 from family members (I only received the second one a month later and was unable to return/exchange it).

Hi there,

I have used the dyson hairdryer and was very impressed but couldn't justify price tag.

I bought the revlon salon one step hairdryer (with brush) and was amased - i have curly hair and it takes me ages to straighten - this is now achieved in 5 minutes (though I let hair air dry beforehand.

Thank you everyone for your kind messages.  They are most helpful.  I have an old hairdryer, its a Braun which cost me £12 approx 25 years ago with an attachment that is perfect for straightening my hair.  I loved it so much I bought 3.  Occasionally they over heat and the fan goes and Braun fix them for me.  I only have 1 left so I really do need to find a replacement gadget.  How about that for sustainability!

PS: Anne will look in to the revlon one step hairdryer - thank you.

I have a Dyson and it is definitely not worth it in my opinion. If you have frizzy hair other hairdryers are much better. In terms of speed it’s probably slightly faster than most to be fair but that’s the only benefit I found. My favourite brand is parlux they are great hairdryers!

Oh no, another choice, another expensive hairdryer - but do they do a good straightener? 😃

I love my Dyson hair dryer ( the regular one)
It’s not only about drying quicker, it’s smooths the hair beautifully .
Looks shiny and like you’ve had a blow dry.

It might be down to hair type well, but I just let mine towel dry then air dry a bit. It takes literally 2 min and my hair is done .

Expensive yes, but really is unlike a regular hair dryer IMO.
